Located 50 km north of Edmonton on Highway 651, Legal is a prime agricultural region. Legal has witnessed remarkable growth in the past decade. Town councillors here are justifiably optimistic over the future of Legal, forecasting "more continued, steady growth" for the Town, based on the stability of the agricultural sector and the alternative lifestyle to Edmonton that is available.
The Town of Legal has 2 schools for local children in the area. Legal School offers
education for children K-9 and the Ecole Citadelle offers a french curriculm for children K-9. The English students then would attend Morinville Community High 10 minutes south on highway 2. Our business licenses are set at a reasonable rates. They are due yearly and are as follows: For a commercial based business the fee is $50.00 , for a homebased business it fee is $75.00, for an out of town business the fee is $100.00 and for a general contractor the fee is $250.00.
The Town of Legal has a volunteer fire department and ambulance service. The
members have extensive training and are highly dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of services they can.
